Launch a community-funded gun buyback
Columbine and Aurora mark two of our country’s worst mass shootings in recent history.
In Denver, homicides just hit a 9-year high. Yet Congress refuses to take any steps to prevent guns from falling into the hands of criminals or the mentally ill.
It's time to take action on gun violence. Individuals from across Denver are joining together to help plan and launch the first-ever community-funded gun buyback program where everyone of us will have the power to take a gun off the streets.
Through this initiative, we'll be able to cut down on the number of dangerous, illegal, and unwanted guns circulating through the city. We know that communities with fewer guns have less gun violence. Each gun removed means a safer Denver.
